Questions
What are we building?
We are building a future Youth building and a new Education/Ministry building that provides more capacity to replace Grier Fellowship Hall and the Education building.
Why are we building?
We are building this because we are adding new members and ministries almost each month (Praise the Lord!) and we are fast running out of room! These changes will allow us to better meet our growing needs for classroom/meeting space for Youth, Sunday School, Wednesday Nights Alive, LIFT, Pre/AfterSchool, Scouting and other ministries.
When will we start building the new facility?
We are projecting to begin building the new Youth building as early as next year. This building will provide temporary growing space for ministries in the current Educational buildings. Later when the old buildings are being razed and new ones constructed, the youth building, and FLC will temporarily house our ministries.
How will we pay for it?
Once we have raised funds through the Capital Stewardship Campaign(s), we hope to be able to borrow a reasonable amount from a bank with affordable payments without jeopardizing all our current operational ministries.
What is a Capital Stewardship Campaign?
A Capital Stewardship Campaign is a church undertaking that seeks pledged donations from members of the congregation to be used in paying for a major construction project; in our case, a new educational facility crucial to our vision.
How much money are we hoping to raise through the Capital Stewardship Campaign?
We hope to raise an additional $2.75 million over the $750,000 that we have on hand now primarily from legacy and donated gifts. The current funds will allow us to begin building the Youth building. Participation in the campaign and how much you give will be entirely up to you. All members and guests will be given the opportunity to contribute if they wish to do so.
How may I prepare to participate?
Allow God to speak to your heart through prayer. Read Scripture passages that speak about stewardship and giving, such as 1 Corinthians 16:2, Proverbs 11:25, Proverbs 3:5-9, 2 Corinthians 8:7, Acts 20:35, Luke 6:38, and Psalm 116:12.
